Next week, SIA will release its June 2016 global sales report (GSR), which will include global semiconductor sales totals for the first half of 2016. As we approach the halfway point in semiconductor sales for 2016, how should we assess sales performance to date, what questions should we consider ahead of next week’s GSR release, and what should we look for in the second half?
To date, 2016 has been a challenging year for semiconductor sales, and global macroeconomic headwinds continue to hinder sales growth (read Brexit, slowing growth in many major economies, especially China).
